Working in loud environments can seriously damage your hearing. If noise exposure levels on your worksite meet or exceed 85 decibels, you are required to wear adequate hearing protection. This online Hearing Protection Training course is designed as a general overview of personal hearing protection equipment, and it covers information on how to select, fit, and maintain it.

This online Hearing Protection Training course covers the following topics:

• The science of hearing loss
• How to prevent hearing loss
• Different types of hearing protection and their advantages/disadvantages
• Choosing appropriate hearing protection
• Properly fitting your hearing protection
• Maintaining your hearing protection

Approximately 15 minutes

Knowledge testing is conducted throughout the course. Test questions are designed to reinforce the information presented and must be completed by each participant. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Each participant is allowed to repeat the course twice if the course pass mark wasn’t achieved on the first attempt.

Participants who successfully pass the course will be able to print out a certificate of completion through the learning management system.
