Remembering information is an important part of a supervisor’s job.  Details about interviewees or new hires, exciting new research from that lecture you attended, administrative changes that directly affect your team…the list of essential information you must be able to recall at any given moment is long and varied.  Note-taking can help with all of it! A positive attitude and willingness to try new techniques is all that is necessary to change the way you think about notes.  This course will ensure you never feel panicked about trying to remember a person’s name or a decision or action item from a meeting ever again!

This Note-Taking for Supervisors course consists of five chapters. These chapters include:

• Chapter 1: Why Take Notes?
• Chapter 2: How Should You Take Notes?
• Chapter 3: Methods for Note-Taking
• Chapter 4: What to Include in Your Notes
• Chapter 5: Review

There will be quizzes along the way, and upon completion you will be presented with a final exam to test your knowledge.

Being a good note-taker means possessing the tools and knowledge you need to record information effectively in all professional situations. By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• Recognize the important of taking good notes in many different settings
• Choose a method of note-taking that is right for you and your needs
• Choose the right note format for any given situation
• Recognize what information is important enough to record and what to leave out

Approximately 60 minutes

A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion for this online Note-Taking for Supervisors course. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
