The goal of this lesson is to introduce employees to the federal laws that cover absences from the workplace for jury duty leave, military leave, and family and medical leave.

Upon successful completion of this course, you should have a better understanding of:

• The rights of an employee to request both jury duty leave as well as pay for jury duty leave.
• The differences between jury duty leave and witness leave.
• The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act employee benefits, the employer requirements, rights, responsibilities, and general exceptions.
• The Family and Medical Leave Act employee benefits, the employee and employer’s requirements, rights, responsibilities, and general exceptions.

Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
