This online DOT HAZMAT Security Awareness course focuses on employees who handle hazardous materials. The course reviews a number of topics aimed at making these employees more aware of security risks in which they may encounter when transporting hazardous materials. Created specifically for the Department of Transportation’s HAZMAT Training regulation on Handling and Transporting Hazardous Materials, this course provides the information necessary to comply with the regulation’s Security Awareness training requirement. (While this program can be used by itself, it can also be used as a companion product to MARCOM’s DOT HAZMAT In-Depth Training program). The course includes information on DOT’s HAZMAT security requirements, security risks associated with transporting hazardous materials, methods that have been designed to enhance transportation security, how to recognize security risks, responding to possible security threats and more.

Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to pass this course. The course is able to be taken three times in efforts to achieve the pass mark. Printable resources are available in the form of a comprehensive student manual.
