In this lesson, you will learn the potential hazards associated with nanotechnology and the engineering and administrative controls that will protect you from those hazards in the laboratory.
Course topics:
1. Recognize how nanomaterials are used in laboratory settings and the potential hazards of working with or around them.
2. Recognize the hierarchy of controls and identify engineering controls that will help to protect laboratory workers from the hazards of working with nanomaterials.
3. Identify administrative controls and safe practices that will protect laboratory workers from nanomaterial hazards.
4. Identify personal protective equipment that will protect you from nanomaterial exposures as well as the appropriate responses to a nanomaterial spill or exposure.
