This course is designed to help new CMV drivers learn the basics of shifting synchronized manual transmissions.

Shifting gears is one of the more difficult skills a driver learns when becoming a professional driver. Correct shifting technique is important. It allows drivers to maintain control of their vehicle and operate the vehicle efficiently. Mastering this skill takes coordination, patience, and practice.

A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Users are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
