The purpose of this course is to train employees to recognize the Government of Canada’s basic communication standards for employers who import, sell, or handle hazardous materials in Canada.

Upon successful completion of this course, you should have a better understanding of how to:

• Recognize the purpose and importance of a hazard communication program
• Recognize common physical and health hazards associated with hazardous chemicals
• Identify chemicals and their hazards, through labeling, markings, pictograms, and warning practices
• Identify the purpose and components of a Safety Data Sheet

• Recognizing Chemical Hazards
• Site Specific Training

Approximately 20 minutes

Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.

Upon successful completion of this online course, a certificate of completion will be available for download and printing.
